Orangewashing America

“Whitewashing” traditionally meant downplaying, covering up, or rewriting history to protect white interests and power. But under Trump, it’s gone much further: introducing "Orangewashing."

With the help of AI and his favorite immigrant billionaire, Elon Musk, Trump is systematically scrubbing data, erasing government records, and deleting inconvenient truths. Climate change reports—gone. LGBTQ+ rights data—gone. Police misconduct logs—gone. Racial injustice archives—gone. Immigration and deportation stats—gone. Military operations, reproductive health, and even historical datasets—all gone.

Over 3,000 federal datasets and more than 8,000 public websites have already been taken down. What doesn’t fit Trump’s agenda—what makes him uncomfortable—gets buried.

Now, he’s turning toward the Library of Congress. The actual books. The history. The memory. He wants to eliminate titles he finds “objectionable.”

Sound familiar? It should. This is exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany.

Book bans, censorship, and historical revisionism are all hallmarks of the Third Reich. And yes, some of those deleted websites included Holocaust documentation—because even that is too real for the narrative Trump wants to build.

This isn’t some slippery slope. We’re already sliding.

If deleting the past, silencing the present, and censoring the future doesn’t scare you—what will?
