Heroes Don't Wear Masks
Or Throw People in Unmarked Vans

When masked men smash your car window, drag you out, and shove you into an unmarked van—you’re not in a free country. That's what happens in Russia. That's what happens in China. That's what happens in countries without freedom. That’s not law enforcement. That’s what dictators do.
Yes, but that is just happening to illegal immigrants, you say. Are you sure? There have been many reports of legal immigrants and American citizens being detained or deported. But that won't happen to U.S. American citizens, right? Don't count on it. What will they do when they run out of immigrants to deport? Who will be the "enemy within" that will need to be snatched from the streets then? Protesters? Detractors? Democrats?
Imagine that happening to your neighbor, your friend, or your child. No name. No badge. No warning. If that doesn't make your blood go cold, nothing will.If you're enforcing the law, you shouldn't be hiding your face. There has to be accountability or police become thugs. Law enforcement becomes violence...which we are seeing with street executions of protesters.
And there has to be due process and basic American rights for everyone. Because if the laws aren't for everyone, then they aren't for anyone. You don’t suspend the Constitution just because someone’s labeled a gang member, a protester, or a political problem. Due process and the Fourth Amendment apply to everyone—or they mean nothing. Once it’s OK to do this to one person, it becomes OK to do it to anyone. Including you. Including your family.
We teach our kids to never go with strangers in unmarked vehicles. We plaster warnings about human trafficking all over Walmart bathrooms. And now we’re supposed to trust masked agents who don’t identify themselves because they say they’re cops? That’s not just terrifying. It’s insane.
This madness shouldn't exist anywhere, let alone America. We have to stop this insanity before it's too late and our democracy is gone.
