CNN Sells Out Democrats

I turned on CNN hoping to see how they were fighting the good fight. I needed reassurance. I wanted to see someone holding the line with democracy teetering on the edge. Instead, I saw Jake Tapper pushing his new book…talking about how Joe Biden has dementia and how the administration was covering it up.
What the hell?!
The planet’s on fire. Democracy is at risk. Voting rights are in question. America is on life support. And this is the direction CNN is taking? Read the room, CNN.
Trump is out there taking America apart, piece by piece, and the GOP’s only response is applause. Meanwhile, CNN is debating whether the president was too old to function and whether there was wrongdoing in covering it up—on national television.
My heart broke.
I have always loved CNN and have watched it for most of my life. I always looked forward to Jake Tapper and his giant, interactive election screen each election year. But this felt like a slap in the face, a betrayal, and wake-up call. If CNN was left-leaning, that seems to be a thing of the past.
I guess I get it. Criticism is necessary for a healthy democracy. But at this point reporting like that is not journalism—it’s our country's sabotage. You don’t throw the good guys under the bus when the opposing team is literally setting the Constitution on fire.
You want to critique the Democrats? Great. Do it after we’ve kept democracy alive and breathing.
Or just become another Fox News.
From now on, it's NPR for me.
